About the Course
The Officer Safety course establishes the safe distances and zones in which to operate in order for officers to minimize risk. Officers will understand how to position themselves effectively in various situations. Exploring areas of situational and tactical awareness will assist officers in understanding why and how to maintain awareness of their surroundings to anticipate and respond to threats. The OODA Loop is a framework for decision-making that supports quick and informed responses in dynamic situations. This framework is presented in such a way that officers can apply it to both professional and personal life choices. This toolkit combines to give officers understanding and knowledge for managing potential dangers. This course is valuable to prepare officers for real-world scenarios and refining their instinctual responses under stress.
